Regenerative Injection Therapy for Jiu-Jitsu Competition
Updated: Apr 25, 2018
This husband & wife team have a lot in common: a love for jiu-jitsu, a knee injury three weeks before high-level competition, a positive response to proloTECH injection therapy, and medals to prove it!
Brianne injured her lateral collateral ligament in training three weeks before the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation's Chicago Spring Open on March 25, 2018. Her coaches were sure that she wouldn't recover in time to compete.
ProloTECH put her back in the game with a simple PRP treatment. Brianne was training again in just three days and she went on to capture two silver medals despite her injury.
Not one to sit back and rest after winning, Brianne signed up for the IBJJF New York Spring International Open and went right back to training to compete again a month later. This inspired her husband and coach, Braulio Corral. At the age of 50, he had not competed in over fourteen years.
So Braulio picked up the weights and hit the mats along with his wife, training to compete in New York along with her. This time it was Braulio who injured his knee in training, just three weeks from the competition date of April 21.
Prolotech's platelet-rich plasma injection helped Braulio get back on the mats as well. He took a little longer to recover but eventually had a great result and was training again a week later. Ultimately in New York, Braulio brought home a silver medal and Brianne hit the gold.
Not everyone responds as well as Braulio and Brianne both did, but Regenerative Injection Therapy offers athletes the tools they need for optimum recovery. Prolotech offers a number of different options and is available at two locations in Chicago and in Northwest Indiana.
